Crime Reporting for 2015

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is officially releasing the 2015 Part One FDLE reported crime statistics. As displayed is the table below, we are showing a slight increase over 2014 numbers.

2014- 1654 Reported Crimes

2015 – 1717 Reported Crimes

Highest Increase: Vehicle Burglaries

• 47 more vehicle burglaries in 2015 vs 2014 to unlocked vehicles
• *If vehicle burglaries to UNLOCKED vehicles is removed, we would show an overall increase of only 0.97%

Arrests by address

Total Arrests: 6474

Arrests with Santa Rosa address: 5107 – 78.9%

Arrests with Escambia Address: 681 – 10.5% (9.3% of the 10.5% is Pensacola)

Arrests with Okaloosa address: 202 – 3.1%

Arrests other FL address: 166 – 2.6%

Arrests with Alabama address: 148 – 2.3%

Arrests other: 170 – 2.6%

 

The recent increase in vehicle burglaries is not only an issue in Santa Rosa County, but also nationally. There are a multitude of reasons these crimes occur but it is a crime in which the victim has choices. We urge our Citizens to do their part in keeping Santa Rosa County a Safe community. Please, lock your vehicles.
