A 10 ft 1 in Mako Shark was caught March 5 by Kenny Peterson off the Navarre Pier.
It took 15 people to help pull the 500 pound shark up on the pier.
Mako Shark is one that you can eat. Most other sharks pee thru their skin but the Mako has a bladder.
Kenny is a member of Team Blue. They are a group of fishermen that fish for shark.
In the photo above each of those reels cost about 2,000.
Earnie Polk is the team leader and the team has caught over 70 sharks this year. Below is a shark the team caught last year.
Most of the sharks Team Blue catches are measured,taged and released.
Earnie said “over a hundred people got a piece of meat from the Mako shark caught to take home to eat”.
