Destin man charged with child endangerment

In conjunction with the City of Destin, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office conducted a Safety DUI Checkpoint March 26th on Legion Drive. Deputies checked for signs of intoxication and impairment as well as other law violations and vehicle safety issues.

Ten warnings for minor violations were issued along with one citation for an expired tag over six months. In addition, a Destin man was arrested after a deputy smelled marijuana emitting from the car and found him in possession of more than 170 grams of marijuana packaged for sale, a thousand dollars in street folds, and a safe, all while driving with a ten-year old child in his car. A clear case containing marijuana was also found in a Hello Kitty lunch box in the back seat. 31-year old Sean Wassner is charged with child endangerment, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, resisting arrest without violence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
