AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ON SRSO DEPUTY

On Oct 1, at approximately  2 pm, Deputies with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an address on Pebble Ridge Drive in Milton. The nature of the call was reference an individual who was stating he wanted to hurt himself and was armed with a handgun.

As deputies approached the home, several gunshots were heard coming from the direction of the home. Witness statements advised the suspect who was standing outside his residence also shot in the direction of another Deputy who was approaching from the opposite direction of the first arriving Deputies.

As the Deputies made a tactical approach on the home, the male was observed standing in the front of the home with a gun in his hand. After lawful commands were given to drop the gun, the suspect complied but attempted to run back into his home where he was taken into custody.

No one was injured during the course of this incident. The exact motive of the suspect is still unknown at this time.

SRSO Major Crimes Detectives and Crime Scene responded to the home where a search warrant was subsequently executed at the residence.

The suspect was identified as Alan Doyle Patterson, W/M 55 years of age. He was taken to the Santa Rosa County Jail where he remains on a $10,000. Bond.
