Attempted contacts with juveniles in Navarre

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office has received 2 reports related to suspicious activity in Navarre involving attempted contacts with juveniles.
On October 24, 6:15 am, a juvenile reported being at a bus stop on Frontera St in Navarre when a heavy-set black between male 30-40 years of age with gold teeth asked the juvenile if they wanted candy, offered money and stated there was a dog in the car. The juvenile did the right thing and left the area.
On October 26 at approximately 7:00, another incident was reported in the same general area where a juvenile reported seeing a white or silver van approaching a bus stop and the driver offered the juvenile breakfast and candy to get in the vehicle. That driver was described as a white male, in his 60’s with white hair.
At this time, we have no validation of these reports. We are asking the community to be aware of these incidents and to also speak with your children regarding their safety and how to handle these situations should they ever arise.
