At approximately 1:00 pm today, 4/7/2023, SRSO deputies responded to a reported shooting at the 2600 block of Salamanca St. in Navarre.
Upon arrival on scene a victim with a gun shot wound was located and was pronounced dead by EMS.
The victim was later identified as Toby Hill, 43 years of age.
The suspect was believed to be in a nearby building and SWAT was deployed in an apprehension effort.
After continuing efforts, the suspect surrendered himself at the 8200 block of Country Bay Blvd.
The suspect in this fatal shooting has been identified as 41 year old Aubrey James Luker. Luker is being charged with First Degree Murder.
Navarre Newspaper reminds our readers that Aubrey James Luker is presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
This is an active and ongoing investigation and additional charges may be pending.
