Today the BOCC recognized Santa Rosa County Public Information Officer, Sarah Whitfield for her award-winning work with Animal Services.
In February 2022, Santa Rosa Animal Services took on a large rescue case with over 70 dogs. As part of the success of this rescue case, was a public relations effort the “Operation Rescue” campaign, developed by Sarah. Through a series of social media posts, live videos, and news releases, Sarah kept the community informed of the case’s progress, how they could help, and who aided the shelter in making this rescue case a success. This effort led Sarah to earn well-deserved Image and Judges’ Awards from the local Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA).
