The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a young man whose body was found yesterday floating by a boat slip on the Santa Rosa Sound around 2:30 p.m. The victim has tentatively been identified as 25-year old Oregon resident Vaughan Heppe, who had been reported as missing and endangered on October 2nd. There were no initial indications of foul play. An autopsy will be conducted by the 1st Judicial Circuit Medical Examiner’s Office. The case remains under investigation.
