James Calkins

A new fundraising record set in Santa Rosa County. After being questioned about his own money being put in the race Calkins said, “I promised to run a grassroots campaign and just like President Trump my self-funding model means I am not obligated to any special interests.”

Calkins has consistently out-raised his opponents and recently qualified to be on the ballot by collecting 1,324 petitions. Calkins response was “I believe it is important to be qualified by Santa Rosa County resident’s signatures not by paying a qualifying fee, that is why I and my team worked hard to meet folks and get their approval to be on the ballot”.

Despite the “qualified by petitions” date of May 11th,  District 3 Candidates, Gage Schlegel, Scott Schmieder and Don Salter have not yet submitted the required amount of petitions to qualify for the August 18th ballot.
