
A search for two people wanted for several multi-state crimes ended in gunfire with the male Blake Edward Fitzgerald, 30 dead and his female partner Brittany Nicole Harper,30 apprehended.
This happened near the intersection of Garcon Point Road and Hammock Trace in Milton, FL around 1:30 a.m.
According to Sheriff David Morgan there was a 15 minute stand off as the suspects remained inside of their car at a residents driveway. Both suspects suddenly bolted from the car and ran to the back of the home located on Saragon Lane. Law enforcement evacuated the home owners out the front door. Both suspects were contained in the backyard area of the home.
Neighbors could hear several gun shots as Escambia deputies returned fire from suspect Blake Fitzgerald. Blake was fatally shot.
It is remarkable that Brittany Harper survived because Blake was using her as a shield during the shootout .
Brittany was taken to a local hospital with gun shot wounds to her leg and ankle.
Santa Rosa Sheriff’s deputies along with U.S. Marshall’s was there.
The couple named ” Bonnie and Clyde ” by media had planned to drive to Panama City to get married. Those plans quickly changed when a pursuit began from the toll booth area at Bob Sikes Toll Bridge.
This was a multi-jurisdictional incident with several Agencies. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is on scene and are conducting their investigation.
