DEPUTY STRUCK BY AUTO

A Deputy with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office was working at TR Jackson Elementary this afternoon at approximately 1:15pm. The Deputy was advised, two individuals were attempting to pick up a child at the school without authorization. When the Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, the car hit him causing injuries to the Deputy. As the vehicle was fleeing the scene, the driver almost hit a member of school administration.

A bolo was issued for the vehicle. Almost immediately, a Major with SRSO located the car and pursued it along with Sheriff Johnson. The vehicle exited onto Hwy 87 and ultimately crashed on Persimmon Hollow Rd in Milton. A male and female exited the vehicle and ran on foot. Both suspects were apprehended. Narcotics were located in the vehicle after it was search. 

The two suspects were identified as:

• Arthur Tanner Buckhault – 26 years of age
• Amber Lynn Holder – 21 years of age.

Arthur Tanner Buckhault and Amber Lynn Holder are being booked into SRC jail. The Deputy was taken to a local area hospital. 

Navarre Newspaper reminds our readers that Arthur Tanner Buckhault and Amber Lynn Holder are presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
