Detention Facility Suicide

On Dec 12 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Detention Deputies from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office Jail facility responded to a medical emergency within the jail facility.

Jonathan David Cotant was discovered deceased in a cell. This case is currently being investigated as a suicide. 

Cotant was booked into the facility on December 3, 2016 after being arrested by FPH on charges of DUI property damage according to jail records.

This case remains under investigation
