
Saturday, October 23rd from 1pm to 2:30pm, top level dignitaries will be in Pensacola to meet and re-affirm our long standing relationship between the United States and Japan to ensure peace and security in the Far East.
This public event, happening at the Blue Angels Atrium in the Naval Aviation Museum on NAS Pensacola, features several guest speakers discussing the strategic importance of the US-Japan alliance. Speakers include:
The Honorable Kazuhiro Nakai, Consul General, Consulate General of Japan in Miami
Major General Hiroyuki Sugai, Defense & Air Attaché at the Embassy of Japan in Washington, D.C.
Rear Admiral James D. “Jamie” Kelly, USN (Ret), Former Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Japan (CNFJ)
Mr. Peter Kelley, President, National Association of Japan-America Societies
Locally, Rear Admiral Kyle Cozad, USN (Ret), President & CEO of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation and Captain Bill Cuilik, USN (Ret), President of the Japan-America Society of Northwest Florida, will lead the event and welcome the guests.
In addition to the ceremonial aspects, visitors will be entertained by a Taiko Drum Performance by Marco Lienhard, who is a Taikoza from New York. There are also table displays of cultural significance representing the US bases in Japan including Okinawa, Sasebo, Iwakuni, Yokosuka, Yokota, and Misawa.
A reception follows the event in the museum serving beverages and Bento box. As always, the JUMP event and reception are free and open to the public. Please note that current NAS Pensacola security policy limits access to DoD ID card holders and all visiting personnel are required to wear a mask.

The Japan-U.S. Military Program (JUMP) is in its seventh consecutive year in Pensacola and is hosted by the Japan-America Society of Northwest Florida. JUMP has been held each year in person at the National Naval Aviation Museum onboard NAS Pensacola (with exception of 2020 due to Covid).
JUMP is a program of Sasakawa Peace Foundation, USA, that highlights the service of U.S. military personnel in Japan and promotes the importance of maintaining a strong U.S.- Japan bilateral relationship for ensuring peace and security in the far east region.
