On March 31, 2023, at approximately 1:34 a.m., The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash at 5755 E. Milton Road, Milton, Florida. (the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office).
Upon the Trooper’s arrival a crash investigation was conducted. It was determined a 24-year old Milton man was driving a 2013 Silver Hyundai north on E. Milton Road.
The driver of the vehicle entered on to the oncoming lane of travel and began to travel through the open grassy area of the Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle continued, striking a tree and overturning, coming to rest on its side.
During the collision investigation the investigating Trooper observed multiple signs of impairment displayed by the driver. A DUI investigation was conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert, and the driver was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. The driver was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail.
