The 911 caller stated there was smoke coming from the roof of a pool store.  Battalion Chief Brewer arrived on scene and determined the smoke was emitting from the roof of the Rio Bravo Mexican Grill.  The crew of Engine 35 gained entry into the front doors, while Truck 36 accessed the roof at the rear of the building.  The fire was mostly contained in the grill’s exhaust system.

Firefighters on the roof were able to remove the burning  exhaust cover to extinguish the fire.  As a result of the fire, the building sustained both smoke and water damage.  A ruptured water pipe in the cockloft had prevented the fire from further spreading.

Midway was assisted by Holley-Navarre Engine 41 and Escambia County Engine 13.  There were no injuries reported.
