Communications received a second 911 call, reporting a house on fire, with smoke and flames showing.  As units were en-route, firefighters observed a large column of smoke.  Engine 41 arrived on scene and found a single family home, fully involved.  A neighbor reported to firefighters that the homeowners were currently away.

Due to the heavy fire, crews made a defensive attack.  Numerous hand lines were deployed and the fire was knocked down. The house was deemed a total loss.  However, firefighters were able to save a large garage, which was next to the residence.

The following units responded, Holley-Navarre Engine’s 41, 45, Navarre Beach Fire Rescue Ladder 49 and Midway Engine’s 36 and 37.  In addition, Holley-Navarre Chief Kevin Lewis, B.C. Turnage and Midway B.C. Johnson and Lifeguard Ambulance Service of Santa Rosa County, Florida also responded
