EQUIPMENT FOR BEACH RENOURISHMENT ARRIVES TODAY

This afternoon under gloomy skies heavy equipment has arrived to begin the 2016 Navarre beach renourishment job.

Completion of this project is expected to be before July 4. Weeks Marine will move around 1.3 million cubic feet of sand from the bottom of the gulf on to Navarre beach.

Work will begin on the East side and move west at a rate of 300 feet per day.Work will be 24 hours a day until completed.

This time around two dredges will be used so the entire job will not take as long as last time.

Navarre Newspaper will video tape the progress like we did the first time Navarre beach was restored.
