Santa Rosa County – Santa Rosa Superintendent of Schools Dr. Karen Barber, Santa Rosa School Board Members, and members of the Santa Rosa Education Foundation announced Karen Cody as the Santa Rosa Teacher of the Year 2024 during a surprise visit this morning. Karen is an Algebra I teacher at Navarre High School and in her seventh year of teaching. Prior to becoming a teacher, Karen was an ESE paraprofessional at Navarre High School for fifteen years.
Karen is Santa Rosa’s nominee for the Florida Department of Education Teacher of the Year 2024. The Florida Teacher of the Year will be selected in May and serve as Florida’s nominee for National Teacher of the Year to be announced in January 2024.
Karen Cody, Teacher of the Year nominees, and all Santa Rosa educators will be honored at Santa Rosa’s Golden Apple Celebration on May 5th, 2023, at The Saenger Theater.
