HIT and RUN DRIVER ARRESTED

A hit and run driver fled from an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Investigator who witnessed the crash, but he wasn’t on the loose for long.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Investigator witnessed 27-year old Holden Danjean of Defuniak Springs hit another vehicle on Eglin Parkway then keep going around 3:15 this afternoon in Shalimar. The investigator attempted a traffic stop with lights and siren, but Danjean sped down Old Ferry Road before jumping out of his vehicle and running towards the water. OCSO deputies set up a perimeter and found Danjean trying to hide underneath a kayak beneath dock steps.
The OCSO has charged Danjean with fleeing and eluding and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Additional charges are pending.

The Shalimar Police Department meanwhile is working not one, but two hit and run traffic crashes involving Danjean, including the one witnessed by the OCSO Investigator. Both crashes reportedly involved non-life threatening injuries.

Navarre Newspaper reminds our readers that Holden Danjean is presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
