HNFD has a push-in ceremony for our new 100’ Sutphen aerial truck (Truck 45) this Saturday at 9am.
The ceremony is steeped in tradition, and we wash the truck with the water from the old engine. There will be ceremonial towels that are embroidered with the date and apparatus call sign, which will be used to dry off the truck, and then we will “push” Truck 45 into the station bay.
After that, dispatch will officially announce that Truck 45 is in service and will begin running calls.
