Holley-Navarre Fire District to order new tower ladder

The Holley-Navarre Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners approved the purchase of this new aerial apparatus. Following a recommendation by the Fire Chief and input from the Apparatus Specification Committee, which is comprised of representatives of every rank within the fire district, the Board members voted in favor of the recommendation and to invest in our public safety and the future of the District as it continues to grow and expand it’s capabilities.

This apparatus is the first of its kind for the Holley-Navarre Fire District and local area. The Holley- Navarre Fire District, established in 1965, is an Independent Special Fire District and is governed by a board of five locally elected officials. The District proudly serves the unincorporated areas of Navarre and Holley.

The apparatus is a 100 foot aerial platform and being custom built for the citizens we serve by the Sutphen Corporation based in Dublin, Ohio through South Florida Emergency Vehicles of Fort Meyers Florida, at a cost of $1.2 million dollars. The base unit pricing is established through a government cooperative purchasing program.

The cost of this apparatus is to be covered with a combination of Local Option Sales Tax dollars for public safety collected and distributed by Santa Rosa County and local impact fees which are collected by the Holley-Navarre Fire District for new construction occurring within the district.

In addition to the 100 foot tower, the vehicle will feature a 1500 gallon per minute water pump, a 425 gallon capacity water tank, 115 feet of ground ladders, various portable equipment and a crew capacity of 4 firefighters.

The new apparatus is expected to take 12-14 months to build with an anticipated delivery in the fall of 2022. A special dedication ceremony announcing its arrival and in-service date will be held at that time.
