The 911 caller stated smoke and flames were visible. The occupants of the home were outside, as Battalion Chief Jason Martino arrived.  B/C Martino reported a working fire and requested an additional engine company, in addition to the box alarm assignment.

The crew of Engine 45 deployed an attack line through the front door, however they encountered heavy black smoke with zero visibility.  The fire was located on the delta side of the home in a bedroom.

A primary search was initiated, one deceased dog was located. The crew from Midway Engine 37 vented the roof, while interior crews opened up the walls and ceiling to check for any further fire extension.

Firefighters worked in hot and humid conditions, with a heat index of approximately 100 degrees. The district wishes to thank nearby residents, who assisted with providing water and Gatorade to our firefighters.

The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature. No injuries were reported.

Holley-Navarre was assisted by Florosa Truck 5, Midway Engines 35 & 37, Navarre Beach Ladder 49 and Lifeguard E.M.S..  Addition station coverage was provided by Gulf Breeze Engine 33 and Avalon Rescue 12.
