Last night around 10 pm. a fatal accident occurred on Esplanade St. in Navarre.
According to FHP report Trena Strong backed out of a driveway of a residence on Esplanade St. and put the car into drive accelerating forward. Trena was driving a 2010 Dodge Avenger and failed to observe a pedestrian that was standing in front when the car struck the pedestrian.
The male pedestrian, Timothy Peters, 46 from Navarre was transported to Baptist Hospital by ambulance where he latter succumbed to his injuries.
Alcohol was not involved according to the FHP report and charges are listed as pending.
