First Tee / MGA scramble at Hidden Creek

A fabulous day of golf on Sunday, Oct 27 kicked off the inaugural 2019 First Tee / MGA scramble  at Hidden Creek Golf course in Navarre. 26 kids paired up with 26 MGA men and women to play a 9 hole scramble.  50 family and friends were spectating and about 100 people were at this event.  Mike Kennedy said “everyone had a great time playing golf and I believe the young ones inspired many of the adult golfer”. Mike also stated, ” thank you to all that participated and to the family and friends and we want to say a big THANK YOU to the Hidden Creek Men’s Golf Association (MGA) and women for taking the time to help get the kids out on the golf course to allow the kids a chance to use the skills they have been practicing in class “.  Mike concluded with “we are hoping to make this a regular event in the Spring and Fall of each year and I will keep everyone updated on the details”.

There are always people behind every event that keeps everything running smooth.  Cindy, Lupe, Jamie, Sandra, and the Hidden Creek staff went all out to make the First Tee / MGA Scramble such a success .  The Hidden Creek staff and golf course supports all of the First Tee efforts with their time, range usage, range balls, putting and chipping green, and reduced playing rates for our First Tee participants.  Without Hidden Creek’s support none of this would be possible.  Mike also said ” We thank everyone at The Black Skimmer restaurant (Andrew, Kara, Zack, and staff).  They stayed late even though the restaurant closes after brunch on Sundays to provide us a place to gather after the scramble and to have the ice cream social.  Please continue to support the restaurant, they are avid supporters of The First Tee program at Hidden Creek “.
