A traffic stop on June 24 conducted on Interstate 10 led to the recovery of thousands of dollars in stolen electronics.
Eduard Jesus Silva (23 years of age) and Neiker David Alvarez (24 years of age) were stopped on Interstate 10 for a traffic violation at approximately 5:30 pm. This was near mile marker 28. During the traffic stop, narcotics along with 92 factory-sealed Apple devices were located. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that a burglary had occurred the day prior in Mansfield Texas involving the break-in of a Best Buy warehouse and the theft of Apple devices.
The two individuals SRSO had in custody were considered suspects in that case. Currently, both suspects remain in the Santa Rosa County Jail. Both individuals now have warrants for theft-related charges out of Mansfield.
