Information was received that the suspect was in possession of large amounts of Spice (Synthetic Cannabinoids), Marijuana, and THC edibles. The suspect was not home when SRSO investigators arrived but soon they quickly learned that the suspect was on his way to the residence.

When the suspect arrived, he stopped his vehicle in front of the house and fired two shots out of the driver side window. The suspect was ordered to stop, however he quickly fled the scene at a high rate of speed and continued eluding law enforcement for several miles, before being stopped on Highway 87.

Travis Paul Sterback, 27 years old, has been identified as the suspect in this case and has been arrested for Trafficking in Synthetic Cannabinoids, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Flee Elude at High Speed, and Firing Weapon in Public. He is currently being held in the Santa Rosa County Jail.

Detectives recovered 150 pounds of spice from the property, with a street value of $200,000. Two guns were also recovered from the vehicle. As well as, $3,000 in cash believed to be from criminal activity.

SRSO is thankful for a great partnership with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Working together has certainly made an impact on getting drugs off the streets and keeping our citizens safe.

Additional charges are pending in Escambia County.

Navarre Newspaper reminds our readers that Travis Paul Sterback is presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
