Jeffery Scott Bostwick arrested for First Degree Felony Homicide

On 2/9/24 instigators with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office received information that a resident of the Milton community had been missing and was believed to have been killed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The reports given stated that the resident was killed at the 2900 block of Cobbtown Road in Jay and that the suspect had numerous firearms.

Later that day, deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence and discovered multiple firearms in possession of the suspect, an individual known to be a convicted felon. On 2/10/24, after continued investigation efforts, SRSO detectives received information that the missing person was buried at another location at the 2900 block of Cobbtown Road.

A warrant was obtained to search that area, and the reported grave was identified. Major Crimes Investigators, SRSO Crime Scene, and the District One Medical Examiner’s Office excavated the grave and recovered skeletal remains.

Currently SRSO investigators have been able to presumptively identify the remains, however this has not yet been officially confirmed through DNA testing. 

Jeffery Scott Bostwick has been identified as the suspect in this case and has been arrested for Second Degree Felony possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and First Degree Felony Homicide: murder dangerous depraved without premeditation.
