Beautification Landscape Project in Navarre

Santa Rosa County has broken ground on a landscape beautification project for Navarre Parkway to enhance the heart of Navarre tourism corridor for visitors and residents alike. The task area encompasses approximately 1.6 miles of median from Andorra to Ortega Street.

Work has begun on the installation of an irrigation system. The landscaping design includes zoysia grass as well as numerous flower beds featuring daylilies, knockout roses, camellias, society garlic and purple muhly grass.

“These enhancements will complement the natural beauty of Navarre and serve to improve the sense of arrival for first-time and returning guests as the summer season begins,” said Commissioner Rob Williamson. “I will continue looking for ways to improve our public areas as my District 4 neighbors have requested.”

Funded by a $292,164 grant from the Florida Department of Transportation, the project is a joint effort with Santa Rosa County and expected to be completed by June.
