There is currently a search for two people in a raft in the gulf just west of Navarre pier.
Navarre Fire Department was out on the beach with lifeguards and they could not see anything. Now a helicopter is doing a grid search over a large area.

The Coast Guard has a boat just east of the pier.

Navarre Beach Fire Department has just returned to the beach.
Life guards are helping with the search.

The fire department and lifeguards have returned to their base.

The Coast Guard is now west of the pier and resuming a search heading towards Pensacola.

The Coast Guard is heading back to Destin.

No one was ever found. We can not confirm that the two on the raft did make it back in. We know that a person reported seeing two people drifting on a raft. Navarre beach fire and lifeguards searched and could not see anyone. Coast guard searched by air and boat and found no one. The Navarre beach fire returned due to a call that someone saw something in the water. That turned out to be a turtle. That is everything that we know at this time.
