Multiple car accident three hospitalized

On 04/21/2024 8:50 pm. the Midway Fire District was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with entrapment on Gulf Breeze Parkway, near the entrance to the Pensacola State College.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

UPDATE: FHP Report

V01 (Pickup Truck) was traveling west bound on US Highway 98 near Kell Road in the inside lane. 

V02 (Sedan) was traveling east bound on US Highway 98 near Kell Road in the inside lane. 

V03 (Sedan) was also traveling east bound on US Highway 98 directly behind V02. V04 (SUV) was also traveling east bound on US Highway 98 in the outside lane next to V02.

The driver of V01 crossed the median and into the east bound lanes. As a result, the front of V01 collided with the front of V02. V02 was propelled south into V04. 

After the initial collision between V01 and V02, V01 flipped several times on top of V03.

Santa Rosa County Communications received numerous 911 calls reporting a multi-vehicle crash.  In addition, the callers stated that two of the vehicles had rolled over.

Engine 37 arrived and firefighters used their extrication tools to free the driver of a yellow Ford Mustang.  The two other drivers and occupants were able to self extricate.

Two of the drivers were trauma alerted and one was flown by Air-care 3 to a local trauma center.  The second trauma alert, along with a third patient were transported by Lifeguard E.M.S., by ground.

There were two other vehicles which received secondary damage as a result of the primary collision.  The cause is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. One of the vehicles reportedly crossed over the center median, causing the multi-car collision.
