On 8/7/2020 at approximately 7:30 pm, Deputies with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 5646 Vendome Ct in Milton. The nature of the call was in reference to a welfare check.
Soon after arrival, Deputies made contact with Jerry Geisler Odum. Upon investigating the welfare check, the case progressed to a homicide investigation after a deceased body was located inside the residence.
Odum was questioned by Major Crimes Detectives and arrested on 1 count of premeditated first degree murder. Odum was transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail where he is being held with no bond.
This remains an active investigation. The release of the identity of the deceased is pending next-of-kin notification.
UPDATE The name of the victim has been released by SRSO. Vickie May Edge DOB: 4/6/1961 59 years of age.
