Manson Construction has been awarded the restoration project for Navarre beach with a low bid of $11,491,462.
The photo above is of the Hopper Dredge “Glenn Edwards,” the largest trailing suction hopper dredge in the United States. It was built in 2006 and has an overall length of 390 feet and a width of 76 feet.
The Glenn Edwards is tentatively scheduled to be off Navarre Beach on December 15, 2024. However, preparation work (mobilization) of shore and Gulf dredging pipelines will, tentatively, begin on November 27, 2024.
The pipeline crew will work from 6 am to 6 pm seven days a week. Once the Glenn Edward reaches the dredge site, the beach pipeline and the dredge crew will work 24 hours. Also, all crews work weekends and Holidays until the project is completed. If the start dates hold, the Beach dredging/fill should end on January 12, 2025.
All the pipelines in the Gulf and on the Beach will be removed by January 28, 2025. As precise as these dates are, we are dealing with beach work and the Glenn Edwards, which is all weather-related. Any delays on their current project(s) will affect our start and end dates.
