Navarre hosted a dual meet Tuesday with the Milton Panthers. It was rescheduled from earlier in the season, and served a bigger purpose.

“I think it’s a good end to our regular season,” said head coach Tony Carter. “It’s a good, fun event heading into districts.”

The Raiders will travel April 17 to Chiles High School in Tallahassee for the district meet.

Athletes competed in events they might not’ve during an invitational, Carter said. A mini-competition grew out of a challenge between middle-distance runners and long-distance runners in the 4×100 meter relay. And the finish was close.

Even the coaching staff lined up for the 4×100. And they finished without pulling a hamstring.

Luke Morris came within a few seconds of a personal best in the 3,200. Lily Campbell took the girls’ 800. Talin Griffin easily cleared 13 feet for the pole vault win.
