The Aggies, now 1-3 on the season, put the Raiders on their heels early scoring twice and held a 14-12 lead as time ran down in the first half.

But a scoring strike to Derek Percivalle gave Navarre the lead for good with 1:30 left before halftime.

The Aggies have two fleet running backs — Andre Colston and Lyle Jackson — to complement Ward O’brien at quarterback.

Unfortunately, it boiled down to turnovers, according to Tate’s head coach Jay Lindsey. Navarre’s Deuce Nedd recovered a fumble deep in Aggie territory, and Percivalle picked off O’brien to stall their drives.

Tate also turned up the heat defensively on the Raiders, who were stopped short twice in the red zone. The Aggies also blocked a punt, recovering the ball on the 11-yard line, but couldn’t cash in.

Sebastian Melendez scored in the fourth quarter for the Raiders, who are now 2-1 on the season.

Next week, the Raiders travel to Tallahassee on Friday to clash with the Leon Lions (1-1).
