Brandon William Aydelott who went to Gulf Breeze High School has been found not guilty by reason of insanity earlier today.
Aydelott admitted that he stabbed his mother, Sharon Aydelott, and struck her numerous times with a baseball bat inside of their home. This happened nearly three years ago when Aydelott was 17.
Aydelott waived his rights to a jury trial.
Dr.Scott Benson who examined Aydelott testified that Aydelott has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and was hearing voices.
Doctors found no evidence Aydelott was on drugs or faking his mental conditions after almost three years of examinations.
Judge John Simon recommended that Brandon William Aydelott be institutionalized.
