FHP reports that a 34 year old woman from Boise Idaho was crossing Highway 98 last night and hit by a oncoming vehicle.
The pedestrian did not survive the impact of the accident which involved a van driven by a 58 year old woman from Laurel Hill, Florida traveling eastbound on Highway 98.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol Official Press Release the pedestrian was crossing 98 from the north shoulder of U S Highway 98 and walked directly into the path of the van traveling Eastbound.
FHP also stated that the right front of the van struck the left side of the pedestrian and both pedestrian and van came to rest on the south shoulder of Highway 98 and Sea Pines Lane.
