On Oct 9 Santa Rosa County Commissioners will listen and ask questions about the proposals from 4 bidders who want to run the pier after the existing contract expires.
A part of a proposal that will be presented from Kenny Cook and Bob Benaquis on Oct 9 is described here. The main focus will be on on family fun for residents and tourist alike and providing a committed staff that will focus on customer service.
Changes include having the bait and tackle shop at the pier entrance and a direct way to monitor pier activity and entry. Restrooms will be added to the south end of the existing gift store.
The current gift shop will be remolded.
A Kid’s Corner located between the pier and exit ramp from pier deck to the beach will be a state of the art playground that will include a playground equipment, sprinkle wash off area, snow cone and ice cream stands, movie screen and deck area for the parents. No alcohol will be allowed in the Kid’s Corner area .
The existing bar and restrooms will be remodeled . A new two story resturant will be called Fisherman’s Catch. Breakfast will also be served. Guest will be able to enjoy the beautiful views of Navarre beach and the gulf.
Plans for many special events along with movie night during the summer and music entertainment should check all the boxes in what the residents and visitor ask for .
