Spring football for the Navarre Raiders ended Friday night with a clash with the Milton Panthers in Russell Stadium.

At the end of the first half — primarily featuring the players tabbed for the varsity roster next year — Navarre was down 14-7 for the first half. The score was reset to zero and the score for second half Navarre 21 to Milton 7.

Milton’s offense had a gunslinger quarterback, and they drew first blood on the opening drive. Tre’lin Carnegia made a leaping catch on the left side of the end zone for a touchdown.

On the next drive, quarterback Kyle Chambers found Trent Hall for a Raider score.

The difference came when Milton picked up an apparent fumble and returned it inside the Raider three-yard line. The Panthers scored with 2:22 left on the clock with an inside run straight up the middle.

Navarre head coach Jay Walls platooned three quarterbacks in the first half, putting Chambers, Garrison Kurtz, and Hunter Pfiester at the helm.

This was the first varsity appearance of up-and-coming running backs Zavier Hamilton and Chris Decorte. As usual, the Raiders were able to punch their way through the defense with a steady ground game.
