VOLLEYBALL

It was a rough night for the Lady Raiders volleyball team Tuesday. They lost to the Milton Panthers in four sets — 20-25, 14-25, 25-18, and 14-25.

This was a district match, and the Panthers have taken both meetings this year.

The Raiders didn’t look in sync during the match, and Milton head coach Jan Cupp was astonished with how many blocks the Panthers accumulated.

Navarre head coach Ryan Davenport felt the difference tonight manifested from mental preparedness, which he’s noted in all three losses this season.

The Raiders, now 14-3, have a week before they take the court against the Bay Tornados in Panama City. This will be the third time they’ve clashed. Last time they met (Sept. 18), Navarre walked away with a two-set victory.

Milton (6-4) will host the Pensacola High Tigers Thursday, and then play a double-header against Laurel Hill and Pensacola Christian Academy on Saturday.
