The active search using multiple OCSO specialized units for an armed domestic violence suspect in the region northeast of Crestview has been suspended at this time due to a lack of leads, however we ask residents to take safety precautions, remain vigilant, and report any suspicious activity immediately. OCSO Deputies will remain active in the area.
They began searching for 29-year old Joshua Lee Colley following a reported domestic violence incident at a home on Third Avenue in Laurel Hill around 10:30 this morning.
Colley was reported armed with a handgun when he left in a truck, crashing it a short time later near Poverty Creek Road before running into woods.
Several nearby roads were closed temporarily as a precaution as deputies and specialized units arrived to set up a perimeter and attempt to find Colley.
The search was called off shortly before 3 p.m. when Colley could not be located.
Colley also has several active warrants for failure to appear. He’s considered armed and dangerous and anyone who sees Colley should NOT attempt to make contact with him. Instead please notify local law enforcement immediately.
Navarre Newspaper remind our readers that Joshua Lee Colley is presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
