The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office today charged a Mary Esther man in connection with the false imprisonment and beating of his live-in girlfriend who is also the mother of his two children.
The 24-year old victim showed up at work December 2nd with multiple injuries and told a co-worker her boyfriend, 22-year old Dante Dixon, had attacked her. Deputies say she had visible injuries ranging from a swollen, cut upper lip with dried blood to bruises.
The victim says during an argument last Sunday Dixon slapped her in the face several times, tied her wrists behind her back to keep her from fleeing or defending herself, and beat her in the lower body with a wooden 2X4. She was ultimately able to get away after telling Dixon if she missed bringing their children to their grandparents, they would contact law enforcement out of concern.
OCSO deputies located Dixon in Niceville today and served active warrants for Domestic Violence Aggravated Battery and Domestic Violence False Imprisonment.
