Sheriff’s Office Hurricane Ida response update

The initial team of Deputies who deployed last week returned late last night.  They were relieved by a second team from the agency.

During the time that they were in St. Charles Parish, the initial team established operations with the host agency, assisted with patrol duties to the Parish, provided traffic control at various locations (to include intersections with inoperative traffic lights and POD sites), as well as made their way out into the impacted communities to distribute needed relief supplies along with a compassionate ear for those in need.

The following Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office personnel volunteered for the initial team (pictured):

Lieutenant Nathan Hall

Deputy Phillip Smith

Deputy Jason Denney

Deputy Mike Ramirez

Deputy Jordan Tolliver

SRSO has learned that behind every successful team, there is an even stronger support base. Our team’s success could not have been possible without the assistance of support personnel from our agency; both on the ground in Louisiana, as well as those back here at our agency headquarters.

The following agency personnel were instrumental in the daily operations on the ground in St. Charles Parish:

Deputy Mike Howington

Sergeant Adam Teichner

Sergeant Duron Nelson

The sun may have set on this first deployment down on the bayou, but our commitment to support both the Sheriff’s Office and the resilient citizens of St. Charles Parish, LA continues.

Our agency’s second team is currently deployed through next week.
