In less than a year from now Santa Rosa County sheriffs office will be able to receive through the 911 system text from your phone for an emergency.
Why a text instead of a phone call?
You might be in a location where you do not want the perpetrator to hear you talking.
You may be a deaf person.
This new service should be available in March or April of 2016.
