The Turtleman Foundation awarded a generous grant today

The Turtleman Foundation awarded a generous grant of $6,500.00 to the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center (NBSTCC) to be used for the purchase of a new UTV. The NBSTCC will use the UTV in their conservation efforts for sea turtle nesting surveys, sea turtle strandings, research and education.
This grant will help the NBSTCC fulfill its mission of “conservation and protection of threatened and endangered sea turtles through community education programs and partnered research.” The grant from the Turtleman Foundation has an immediate, positive impact on these programs.
The Turtleman Foundation and S&S Handart are in Mooresville, NC. They are an environmentally and socially minded business committed to sea turtle conservation. Their philosophy “that it is only when we all do good, that we can all do well” is shown each year. A portion of their annual sales are donated to sea turtle conservation efforts, research, rehabilitation and education.
As partners with master Ecuadorian artisans, who have been hand carving decorative marble gifts inspired by the local marine life for generations, S&S Handart exercises fair trade standards and practices. Through their “Give Back” program Ecuadorian artisans are granted an opportunity to earn a fair and stable income while protecting the environment through sustainable marble mining.
Words can not express the gratitude for this remarkable gift that will allow the NBSTCC to continue being an organization that puts conservation into action! Thank you from all of us at the NBSTCC and sea turtles across the world.
