At approximately 11:40 a.m. today, HNFD crews were dispatched to the intersection of East Bay Blvd and Grand Bay Ct for a motor vehicle crash.
A 911 caller reported that a pickup truck had left the roadway and struck a tree. In addition, there was a fire in the engine compartment.

Two passing Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Sergeants, Rich Aloy and Jason Denney stopped to assist.The two sergeants were able to remove the driver from the burning vehicle.
Engine 41, Truck 45 arrived and the crews extinguished the fire.
The paramedic from Lifeguard E.M.S. requested a helicopter to transport the patient. ShandsCair 6 responded and landed on East Bay Blvd.
The scene was then turned over to the Florida Highway Patrol.
