Two arrests for trafficking in fentanyl

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office made two, separate unrelated arrests for trafficking in fentanyl over the weekend. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

31-year-old Antonio Tyus of Freeport ran through a stop sign at the intersection of Commercial Drive and Vucovich Drive near Niceville Saturday. When the deputy made a traffic stop, he could smell burnt marijuana in the car. Tyus said he smoked it in the vehicle.

A probable cause search found eight grams of fentanyl, methamphetamine residue, and marijuana residue inside. 

Tyus is charged with trafficking in fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

In a separate incident a deputy made a traffic stop Saturday near Savage Street in Crestview after spotting several traffic violations. The driver, 43-year-old Nathaniel Parker of Crestview ran from the scene. The odor of marijuana was coming from within the vehicle. A probable cause search turned up 30 pills of fentanyl, marijuana, a gram of cocaine, a digital scale, and plastic baggies.

Parker is charged with trafficking in fentanyl, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, second or subsequent offense, and resisting an officer. 

Navarre Newspaper reminds our readers that Tyus Antonio and Nathaniel Parker are presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
