Members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Drug Task Force attempted a traffic stop on a red 2021 Jeep Wrangler in Fort Walton Beach October 4th. In an attempt to get away 23 -year old Tyrese DAVIS used the Jeep to ram an OCSO vehicle.
Investigators followed DAVIS to the area of Odd Fellow Road in Fort Walton Beach, where DAVIS and his passenger, 18-year old year Malik COWARD, began discarding clear bags of prescription tablets from the vehicle, while the vehicle continued to flee. While on Odd Fellow Road, DAVIS and COWARD abandoned the vehicle, and ran. Both were caught following a short foot pursuit.
The prescription tablets that DAVIS and COWARD discarded were collected and identified as counterfeit Oxycodone tablets that tested positive for the presence of Fentanyl and weighed more than five-hundred grams in total.
DAVIS has been charged with Trafficking in Fentanyl, Fleeing and Eluding, Destruction of Evidence, and Resisting Arrest without Violence.
COWARD has been charged with Trafficking in Fentanyl, Destruction of Evidence, and Resisting Arrest without Violence.
