Today at approximately 6:00 pm, Deputies with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office arrested Anthony Barnes who was wanted on warrants for escape, property damage, and criminal mischief.
Sheriff Johnson recently instated 2 new specialized units. The Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT). One of their first wanted fugitive assignments was Anthony Barnes who on May 4, escaped from a work release program in a neighboring county. SRSO Narcotics also assisted in the capture.
Today, while executing a warrant, Barnes was observed fleeing a residence on West Lake Road in Milton. K-9 units tracked Barnes and he was taken into custody without incident.
Barnes was taken to the Santa Rosa County Jail where he is being held with no bond.
