The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took the life of a 28- year old Fort Walton Beach man on Monday , June 7 around 2 p.m. in the Willow Bend area of Wright.
Deputies responded to a home on Bennett’s End after Communications received a 9-1-1 call of multiple shots fired.
They found the victim 28-year old Stoney Mathis.deceased at the scene in a wooded island directly in front of his address after responding to a call of “shots fired” around 2 p.m. Mathis had been struck multiple times.
OCSO Investigators say they received reports of two cars seen in the vicinity prior to the shooting, a silver/gray Kia Soul with two black males inside, and a dark gray sedan.
An autopsy will be scheduled of the victim 28-year old Stoney Mathis.

Arron Dwayne Dawson is wanted for questioning in connection with the fatal shooting June 7, 2021 of Stony Mathis near FWB. Dawson has 3 Active felony warrants.
