Home Government WEATHER ALERT FOR WEDNESDAY

WEATHER ALERT FOR WEDNESDAY

The US National Weather Service Mobile Alabama has expanded the level 3 (enhanced) risk zone to cover more of our area for Wednesday.

Now is the time to make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather warnings and practice going to your tornado safe place with your family. Don’t forget your pets!

Wednesday into Wednesday night: this continues to be the period when a significant severe weather event is expected.

Long track tornadoes are possible, along with damaging wind gusts, large hail, and locally heavy rainfall.  An Enhanced Risk of severe storms exists for nearly the entire area. Isolated to scattered severe storms will develop across the area during the day on Wednesday and will be followed by a line of severe storms moving through the area mainly during the evening into the overnight hours. The risk of severe weather will end after the line of severe storms moves through.

While we may hear a few rumbles of thunder today and tomorrow, there is no official risk of severe weather today for our area.
